WREXHAM FC triumphed in their first ever FA Trophy game, with victory over Mansfield at The Racecourse.
Dean Saunders' side found themselves two goals up after just 11 minutes, courtesy of on-loan Cardiff City striker Jonathan Brown and centre-back Ashley Westwood.

But Mansfield fought back and, despite Marc Williams hitting the woodwork for the Reds, Wrexham failed to build on their excellent start.

Adam O'Connor pulled a goal back for the visitors on 67 minuites to set up a nervous finish but Wrexham held on for the victory.

Wrexham: Ward, Taylor, Mike Williams, Westwood, Williamson, Woolfe, Fairhurst, Fleming, Marc Williams, Brown, Suffo.

Subs: Kearney, Aiston, Smith, Tsiaklis, Abbott.
