DEAN Saunders entered the record books for the most successful start ever by a Wrexham FC manager with a 3-1 victory at Weymouth.
Debutant Nathan Woolfe gave Wrexham FC the lead inside the first 15 minutes, and two goals in the last 10 minutes secured the points before Weymouth scored a consolation goal in injury time.
The Reds, who also included Nathan Fairhurst in their starting XI, took the lead after just 13 minutes when Woolfe fired home a free kick after Kevin Sandwith had fouled Wes Baynes.
Marc Williams and Baynes both went close to extending the lead but Wrexham had to be content with the single goal at half time.
The second half saw Weymouth's Chris McPhee go close with a header, and Reds' keeper Gavin Ward also saved another McPhee effort as the home side went in search of the equaliser.
But top scorer Jefferson Louis struck on 83 minutes with a low shot from 18 yards, before Marc Williams continued his rich vein of form, firing home two minutes later.
There was still time for Stuart Beavon to grab a goal for Weymouth, but victory for Wrexham means their winning streak has now extended to five games and leaves them just outside the play-off places with 30 points and a game in hand over most of their rivals.
