Wrexham end League stay with victory over Lincoln
Lincoln City 2 Wrexham 4
WREXHAM ended their 87-year stay in the Football League with 4-2 victory at Lincoln City, including two goals from Wes Baynes free kicks.
Brian Little again included a number of younger players, with Simon Spender, Carl Tremarco, Marc Williams and Conall Murtagh all restored to the starting eleven, alongside experienced goalkeeper Gavin Ward.
Operating with a 4-4-2 formation, the Reds took the lead in the 10th minute when Levi Mackin headed home Baynes's free kick.
And Wrexham extended their lead in the 32nd minute, when Baynes found the net with a free kick from just outside the box after Lincoln's Gary Croft handled.
But with seven minutes to go before the break, Steve Evans put through his own net to give Lincoln hope.
Wrexham were not to be denied though and with just under four minutes left of the game, Baynes scored his second free kick from 25 yards out after he was fouled by Lincoln's Shane Clarke.
There was still time for Lincoln to pull a goal back through Ben Wright, but Chris Llewellyn struck from 25 yards to ensure Wrexham finished the season on a high.
