WREXHAM were left frustrated after being held to a draw by Macclesfield.
A crowd of just under 4,000 was at The Racecourse as the Reds attempted to boost their slim hopes of survival with victory over their in-form opponents.

But despite dominating possession for long periods, Wrexham lacked the cutting edge necessary to pick up all three points.

And it was Macclesfield who took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Sean Hessey's free kick found its way to Jamie Tolley, who scored from 12 yards.

That left the Reds chasing the game and they had to wait until ten minutes from time to get back on level terms, when Steve Evans scored from Michael Proctor's throw.

Wrexham continued to push for a winner but too often the final delivery into the box was not good enough.

With Notts County losing, Brian Little's side are now seven points adrift of safety with six games remaining.

Don't miss Monday's Evening Leader for more reacion.
